Little Brown Farm is looking for a farm helper

As our flower and lavender farm continues to grow, we are looking for someone to join us for hands-on farm work this season.

This is real farm work — working outdoors in the elements and getting your hands in the soil. Tasks may include planting, weeding, harvesting flowers and lavender, and helping with general field work around the farm.

It’s not glamorous work, but it’s meaningful work — and it’s how the flowers you see here actually begin.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• hard-working and dependable
• comfortable with physical outdoor work
• enjoys being outside and working with their hands
• able to work some weekends during the season

The position will start part-time in April and may continue through October.

Please note that reliable transportation is a must, as our farm is located in a rural area without public transportation.

Experience is helpful, but a strong work ethic and positive attitude matter most.

Today we had the joy of hosting a beautiful Christmas Centrepiece Workshop in collaboration with Amanda from Amanda’s Bloomin’ Buckets. A wonderful group of women gathered together to slow down, connect, and tap into their creativity while learning how to design stunning centrepieces for their Christmas tables or to display throughout their homes.

With Amanda’s expert guidance, participants worked with a thoughtfully curated assortment of fresh flowers and seasonal greenery, learning tips on colour balance, texture, structure, and floral care. Each woman created a unique arrangement that reflected her own style — from classic and elegant to lush and whimsical.

Beyond the flowers, this workshop was truly about community. It was a space filled with laughter, conversation, and creative confidence, where women supported one another and left feeling inspired and proud of what they created. We are so grateful to Amanda for sharing her expertise and passion, and to everyone who joined us to make this workshop such a meaningful and festive experience.

We can’t wait to host more moments like this — where creativity blooms and community comes together. 💜

What does late summer feel like on our farm? Honestly… Christmas.

From the early days of spring, when we tuck tiny seeds and seedlings into the soil and trust the process, to the long months of weeding, watering, and protecting those tender plants — it all leads to this magical moment. By August, the gardens are overflowing with colour, blooms are everywhere, and the harvest begins. It’s like unwrapping gifts after months of waiting — each flower feels like a present.

Even though the work is hard (and I’ll admit, we’re tired!), my heart is so full. Seeing the fruits of our labour — and watching the joy it brings to others — is the greatest reward. This isn’t just my journey either. Brian and the kids are such a huge part of it all, and together we’ve built something that fills us with gratitude every single day.
