The farm is entering one of my favourite transitions of the season. 💜🌸

Our English lavender has finished blooming and we’re now busy harvesting it for essential oil production—a process that fills the farm with the most incredible aroma.

French lavender is still blooming beautifully and remains available for You-Pick, so if you’ve been hoping to gather your own bundle, there’s still time.

At the same time, our cut flower fields are coming into their own. Every week, new flowers begin to bloom, making each visit a little different from the last. From now through the rest of the summer, our You-Pick Flower Experience will take centre stage.

Due to the forecasted rain and high risk of thunderstorms this evening, our Monday, July 27 Evening You-Pick Flowers has been cancelled.

The safety of our guests is always our priority, so we’re calling it early rather than taking a chance with the weather.

Sometimes I look across these fields and remember where it all began.

It started with a few pots of flowers, a lot of trial and error, and a willingness to keep learning. Year after year I planted, failed, learned, grew, and simply kept going.

One of the things I love most about flowers is that every variety has something unique to offer. Different colours, different heights, different bloom times—none of them are the same, yet each has its own beauty. I think people are a lot like that. We don't all have to be good at the same things. We just have to find what we love and have the courage to keep growing.

These days I often hear visitors tell me that I'm living their dream. The truth is, this wasn't built overnight. It grew one season, one lesson, and one small step at a time.

If there's one thing I hope people take away from visiting Little Brown Farm, it's that your dream is possible too. Find something that lights you up, keep showing up for it, and don't be afraid to start small.

This farm has brought me closer to who I really am, and sharing it with others who are looking for a little peace, beauty, and connection is the greatest gift.

Last night’s Fresh Lavender Wreath Workshop was everything I hoped it would be💜

There was creativity. There was laughter. There were wonderful conversations. And there was the incredible fragrance of fresh lavender filling the air.

Together we worked with several varieties of English lavender, each at its peak bloom, creating wreaths that are as unique as the people who made them. Watching everyone slow down, enjoy the process, and leave with something beautiful they created by hand was incredibly rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who joined me and made it such a special evening. Moments like these are exactly why I wanted to offer these workshops at the farm. 💜

💜Distillation Day at Little Brown Farm! 💜

Today we’re distilling our beautiful English lavender, Melissa—our unique white-flowering variety. Although the blooms are white, they’re incredibly fragrant and produce a wonderfully aromatic essential oil.

Many of you asked to know when we were distilling, so today’s the day! If you’re visiting the farm, you may even catch the copper still in action and experience the incredible scent of fresh lavender being transformed into essential oil.
